Depending upon the degree program you select, you can attend
class on campus or online. Some campuses offer a combined
campus-based and online learning format. While widely available,
not all learning formats are offered at all locations.
Campus-Based Learning Format

- Attend class just once a week. Classes are offered in the
evening or on weekends. Some campuses offer day classes.
- Complete homework assignments on your own, as well as with
your learning team.
Online Learning Format
Providing the flexibility of a 100% online education.
- Complete coursework through electronic forums
- Download lectures and assignments from your student website
and study them at your convenience.
- Login to class at least four days per week for University
of Phoenix or three days per week for Axia College of
University of Phoenix. You choose the days and times.

students the opportunity to learn the skills, knowledge, and
attitudes of a professional human service worker. Through course
work, students learn about human development, problems in human
functioning, programs for helping people with their problems,
advocacy and influencing public policy, and crisis intervention.

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology program provides students
with a strong foundation in general psychology. Students will
gain insight into the cognitive and affective processes that
underlie the individual human development and behavior. Courses
in this program are designed to provide supervisors, managers,
and other professionals with greater skills in critical thinking,
communication, collaboration, and information utilization through
the enhanced understanding of human psychology. The courses in
this program do not have a clinical emphasis and do not lead to
professional licensure.
Master of Science in Counseling / Community Counseling

in Community Counseling is designed to provide the knowledge and
skills needed in today's counseling field. The program
encompasses the foundations of counseling and guidance, including
theories and their application with groups and individuals. In
addition to involving students in a variety of counseling focused
educational activities, the program offers supervised clinical
experiences.

of mediation. Mediation is an attractive alternative to settling
differences in court. Disputing parties can save thousands of

settlement. This course is designed to give professionals the
knowledge and skills to provide mediation services. This 3-credit
course provides the basic skills needed to practice mediation.
