Rosemead School of PsychologyRosemead provides aspiring evangelical psychologists with an expansive integration of psychology and theology through an APA-accredited, university-based program. Rosemead prepares them to minister within clinical settings, lead in research and teaching within academia, and impact the lives of individuals within the local church and throughout the world. Rosemead is equipped with a 10,000-square-foot counseling center. Students gain clinical experience through the counseling center under the supervision of professional therapists. Students also benefit from Rosemead's location, which has one of the highest concentrations of clinical practices in the nation. These practices regularly train Rosemead students through internships and practica. Rosemead has the highest placement rate in APA-approved internships compared to other clinical psychology programs in Southern California. Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology (PhD)Back to topStudents in the PhD in Clinical Psychology are interested in combining clinical work with other psychological competencies, such as teaching and research. Research training in Rosemead's PhD program is strong in selected areas of ongoing faculty research. Thus the PhD is particularly appropriate for students who desire both to develop quality clinical skills and to develop research skills related to clinical practice. Rosemead's doctoral program in clinical psychology is designed primarily to train practitioners in professional psychology. The program is designed for students interested in pursuing careers in applied areas of clinical psychology. While all students receive training in the basic areas of scientific psychology relevant to the practice of psychology, the focus of Rosemead's doctoral training is on the development of professional skills and the utilization of theory and research in professional practice. While both the PsyD and PhD have a common core of basic science and clinical courses, students selecting Rosemead's PsyD are generally preparing for full-time positions as psychological practitioners.
