What is Baker College Online?

Because you do all your classroom work when it is convenient for you, your schedule is very flexible. Baker's degree programs are designed to prepare you 100% for your new career or advanced position as quickly as possible, with no additional training required. Baker offers master's degrees, bachelor degrees, associate degrees and certificates in growing, high-demand career fields.

How much does it cost?

How are the classes delivered?

Our entire degree programs are delivered via Blackboard®, an internet-based system designed to allow students to participate in classes in an online format. It allows you to send and receive information from your instructor, the classroom, other students or groups of students. Each class has a unique virtual classroom that is the common meeting area for all students enrolled in that online class. This form of education is what the experts call "asynchronous." This means what you do is neither time nor place dependent. You go online to read lectures, participate in discussion and possibly complete exams. Many of the assignments and exercises required in online courses will still be completed off-line using word processing software. This system is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Online courses are usually six weeks in length, and students may enter the program year-round.

Bachelor of Science in Psychology

Psychology is the study of mental processes and behavior. A scholarly background in psychology is useful and versatile for students to have both in their personal lives and professionally. The psychology program will help to prepare students for a variety of professions and careers or to enter graduate study in psychology, or other related disciplines and fields. The American Psychological Association's Board of Educational Affairs Task Force established specific guidelines for Undergraduate Psychology Major Competencies (Undergraduate Psychology Major Learning Goals and Outcomes: A Report, March 2002). The undergraduate psychology major at Baker College Online adapts from, and conforms to, these guidelines and standards determined by the Task Force. The psychology program will help students to develop and enhance knowledge, skills and values congruent with the science and application of psychology and is applicable to a wide variety of occupations and workplaces.

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Baker College Online is a 100% online program and is not available through a Baker College Campus. Students in this program will receive all support services through the Baker Online campus. Courses cannot be taken at another Baker College campus.
